During my Easter vacation in Philly, Chloe and I had lunch at XIX at the Bellevue Hyatt. We both had the $22 3-course meal. The first course was a spread of various salads (caesar, potato, broccolini, tomato & basil, and spinach & endive), artisinal cheeses (brie, dubliner, and port salut) and meats (finocchiona, pistachio mortdella, and capicola). All the salads tasted fresh and clean and it was a challenge not to eat too much since we still had two more courses.
The second course included your choice of select entrees. Chloe had the fish of the day and I chose the XIX steak, which had a hoisin sauce marinade that reminded me of Korean-style kalbi. We finished our delightful meal with our fill of decadent sweets from the dessert table, which included chocolate chip cookies, coconut macaroons, sugar cookies, lemon madelines, fresh berries and cream, peach cobbler, white chocolate amaretto cups, banana cream puffs, cannoles, and chocolate indulgence. Everything was more than satisfactory and we left with full and happy stomachs.
