The burgers were just the perfect size--not too tall so that you can taste all the fillings in one bite. (When a burger is bigger than what you can feasibly bite off and chew, this poses a problem.) The spicy mustard in the Bavarian burger was a tad overpowering and would have sufficed with a little less. The umami burger features a "truffled mushroom duxelle" that has a distinct (and possibly acquired) taste that I personally am not crazy about. I'm also not a big fan of bacon, but the way it was prepared in the umami was stellar. Apart from the mustard and mushrooms, I liked it all.

bopNgrill--Featured on the Food Network
Last night, my pal Flo and I made the trek out to bopNgrill on our way to an NU game. I had been meaning to go for a while, especially after it's feature on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives show. We had the famed kimchi fries, umami burger, and the bavarian burger. The kimchi fries were epic--flat out the best I've ever had! I've only had kimchi fries at Del Seoul, but the bNg version is in a whole different ballgame. Flo first picked out a fry and I asked her why she was missing out on the best part--the kimchi!? Her palate is not as adventurous as mine, but she finally tried it all out and enjoyed it. You may normally eat rice with your kimchi, but fries are just another starch!
